Pocket PC Setup
General information for specific devices (e.g., how to perform a
reset):
Starting point for setup:
There shouldn't be any additional set-up required after a soft reset,
however, if folks have been playing with the unit, then settings may no longer
be set to the defaults. So, it is probably best to start over and
configure from a hard reset.
- Turn unit on.
- iPAQ 6315
- If unit will not turn on, then check sliding lock on battery
compartment on the back of the unit (see picture below). If it is
unlocked (showing red), then using the stylus, slide it to the left to
lock the unit (will show green when locked).

- iPAQ 5550
- Check charge by plugging into charger. If charging light does
not come on, then units battery may be fully drained and it will not
charge until reset:
- Perform soft-reset on device and place in charger
- If charging indicator still does not light, then backup battery may
be fully drained as well.
- Leave unit in charger for several minutes to recharge backup battery
-- indicator light will still not be on -- then perform soft-reset again
and resume charging.
- Wait for unit to complete booting.

difference between fast and slow charge? Can we fast-charge on
a powered USB hub in the carts?]
